PROCESSING PLANT / PACKAGING STORES DEPARTMENT
Namib Poultry (Pty) Ltd is a fully integrated broiler production operation established in 2012 and situated 30km north of Windhoek on the A1 Highway on the farm Klein Okapuka. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To perform general tasks associated with the position and/or department.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Equipment Operation
- Operate machinery in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks on the machine.
- Ensuring the correct stacking of products as per laid down standards.
- Maintaining proper awareness of surroundings.
- “Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation –
- To ensure the forklift is clean and in a good state.”
- Ensure machinery is in proper gear and not moving too fast for working conditions.
• Forklift Operation
- Always take precautionary steps to ensure good housekeeping and food safety.
- Ensure that no damage is caused to products or pallets and proactively identify broken pallets.
- Loading and off-loading pallets from Mobile and Static Racks inside Holding Freezers.
• Safety
- Responsible for neat and safe tracking and placement of products in the designated areas and locations as directed by supervisors.
- Safely transport empty and loaded pallets with products as per laid down standards.
- Conduct a daily safety check.
- Report accidents and near misses immediately to superiors.
- Work in a safe and responsible manner.
• General
- Carry out ad hoc tasks associated with the department and receive by superiors and management.
- Ensure FIFO/FEFO system is maintained.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Grade 10 (NQF 2)
• Forklift driver’s license
• 2 (two) years of working experience inside an FMGC environment
• Namibian citizen
• Proficient in English, being bilingual will be advantageous
Must be willing and able to work shifts, weekends, overtime and on Sundays and public holidays
