Job Description
The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Occupational Safety legislation, and that Company Safety Policies & procedures are carried out within the above regions and on the relevant sites.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- National Diploma in Safety Management (3 years) / Degree advantageous
- Certified facilitator – advantageous
- Experience in preparation and presentation of Safety training
- Working knowledge of WCA, OSHA standards and compliance legislation
- At least 5–8 years’ experience in a similar position in a construction environment – advantageous
- Proven experience in thorough investigation & reporting of workplace incidents and accidents
- Experience in a road construction environment
- Previous experience working with bitumen products – advantageous
- Risk assessment and safety audit experience
- Unendorsed driver’s licence and own vehicle
- Computer literacy – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Bilingualism, with English as one language – both written and spoken
