Introduction:

Vacancy exists for a role of Administrator: Mining reporting to the Manager Mining Operations. The successful incumbent responsible to provide a complete administrative support function, while maintaining company standards and a high level of confidentiality.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Adhering to all Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
  • Understands and adheres to RUL OHSE standards.
  • Supporting and rendering service to the department in daily administrative duties and requirements, e.g., processing requisitions and orders, bookings and travel arrangements, staff inductions, access control, office supply management, diary management, filing, data entry requirements.
  • Preparing meeting agendas, arranging venues, taking minutes, and following up on action plans. Prepares and types correspondence on behalf of the Manager.
  • Projecting a corporate professional image by ensuring courteous and friendly frontline service and maintaining appealing office/reception layout.
  • Ensuring that travellers take the necessary medical precautions prior to visiting endemic areas.
  • Organising and/or coordinating visits, drafting programmes, keeping record of all visitors, and arranging events for local and international customers.
  • Ensuring that all monthly audits and housekeeping reports are compiled and distributed amongst the relevant FLM.
  • Ensuring that adequate stationery is available for office operations and supervising cost-effective distribution thereof.
  • Controlling and minimising the use of printing and consumables to ensure cost savings are maintained.
  • Collaborating effectively with other functions or departments.
  • Issuing PPE and any relevant safety apparel for employees.

Requirements and experience:

  • Grade 12 minimum E in English and Certificate in Secretarial or Office Administration qualification with two (2) years in an Office/Administration environment.
  • OR
  • Grade 12 minimum E in English and four (4) years experience in a PA/Office Administration environment.
  • Valid Code 08 (B) Driver’s License.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal & written).
  • Computer skills (MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Organizing and planning skills.
  • Self-starter and performance orientated.
