Job Description

oin the Department of Internal Audit and Risk Management at NUST to enhance institutional integrity by providing independent assurance and advisory services that improve operational effectiveness, governance, and the adequacy of internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluating and improving the effectiveness of the university’s governance, risk management, and internal control processes.
  • Conducting independent audits.
  • Assessing compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Identifying areas for improvement.
  • Providing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and financial integrity.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Honours Degree (NQF level 8) in Accounting, Finance, Internal Audit, or a related field.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in auditing.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or other relevant professional qualification will be an advantage.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of internal auditing standards and practices, strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Internal staff members must have successfully completed their probationary period.
