About the Role

BHL GROUP is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Junior Accountant to support the organization’s financial operations under the guidance of the Senior Accountant. This role plays a key part in debtor and creditor management, fuel control, and financial reporting, while also providing leadership and supervision to the Creditors and Fuel Controllers. The position requires strong analytical ability, sound accounting knowledge, and the confidence to work with both operational teams and senior management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily accounting operations including debtor and creditor management

  • Oversee fuel control processes and ensure accurate fuel accounting and reporting

  • Supervise and provide guidance to Creditors and Fuel Controllers

  • Prepare accounting records up to trial balance level

  • Assist with financial reporting and presentations to the Board of Directors

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve accounting queries

  • Identify process improvements to strengthen financial controls and efficiency

Minimum Requirements

  • Diploma in Accounting or Financial Reporting (Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is an added advantage)

  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in debtor accounting or related roles

  • At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity

  • Proven experience preparing accounts up to trial balance level

  • Experience in financial reporting to a Board of Directors

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Strong numerical aptitude and high attention to detail

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team

  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing and motivating teams

  • Age requirement: 23-35 years
