About the Role
BHL GROUP is seeking a proactive and technically skilled Junior IT Technician to support the installation, maintenance, and ongoing reliability of the company’s IT infrastructure. The role focuses on hardware, software, networking, and fleet telematics systems to ensure uninterrupted operations across the business. The successful candidate must be solution-oriented, adaptable, and capable of providing effective technical support in a dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Install, upgrade, and maintain fleet telematics hardware and software systems
Ensure IT systems remain up to date through regular upgrades and maintenance
Monitor networking equipment, servers, and system performance
Assist with the design, implementation, and support of new software solutions and features
Monitor web performance, network availability, and system security
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end users
Respond to IT issues related to hardware, software, and networking
Modify system configurations, utilities, and software as required
Set up IT equipment, user accounts, and profiles for new employees
Perform regular data backups and ensure data integrity
Implement network system improvements where required
Maintain IT equipment inventory, technical documentation, and expense records
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 3 years’ experience as an IT Technician or in a similar role
Relevant IT qualification (A+/N+ certification preferred)
Grade 12 School Certificate
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administration
Working knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems
Telematics or satellite tracking system experience (advantageous)
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize workloads, and manage time effectively
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness to work occasional after-hours or weekends
Willingness to travel when required
Up-to-date knowledge of emerging technologies, systems, and software upgrades
