Desert Fruit (Pty) Ltd is a large-scale agricultural enterprise operating in an arid environment where efficient water management is critical to production success. The company is seeking an Irrigation Technician / Irrigation Supervisor to manage, maintain, and optimise irrigation systems to support healthy crop growth and sustainable water usage.
Role Purpose
To operate, maintain, and optimise irrigation systems to ensure efficient water usage and reliable system performance.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, maintain, and repair drip, micro, and sprinkler irrigation systems.
Maintain pumps, filtration systems, fertigation units, dams, and reservoirs.
Install and repair pipelines, valves, fittings, and control units.
Monitor water pressure, flow rates, and filtration performance.
Conduct inspections and preventative maintenance.
Maintain basic irrigation and maintenance records.
Work closely with orchard and production teams.
Minimum Requirements
Proven experience in agricultural irrigation systems.
Knowledge of pumps, filtration systems, pipework, and fittings.
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills.
Physically fit and willing to work in field conditions.
Valid driver’s license (advantageous).
