Desert Fruit (Pty) Ltd provides on-site accommodation and catering services for employees working on its remote farming operations. The company is seeking a First Level Cook to prepare nutritious daily meals in line with Halaal requirements while maintaining high standards of hygiene, food safety, and employee wellbeing.
Role Purpose
To prepare daily meals for farm employees and visitors while ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and Halaal standards.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook daily meals for farm accommodation residents.
Ensure strict adherence to Halaal food preparation standards.
Plan balanced menus suitable for a physically demanding work environment.
Cater for special dietary requirements, including diabetic meals.
Manage stock control, food storage, and portion control.
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards.
Comply with health, safety, and company regulations.
Minimum Requirements
First Level Cook certificate or relevant catering experience.
Experience in bulk or institutional catering (advantageous).
Knowledge of Halaal food practices.
Ability to work independently in a rural environment.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
