Job Description
To plan, support and control daily activities between sections of the Dairy Production Plant (Warehouse, Packaging, Processing Cooler & UHT), by ensuring good manufacturing practices, quality production and overseeing resource movement on the floor. Supporting the Team Leaders in reaching operational targets and drive quality within the process. Training teams in good manufacturing practices and support in designing and maintaining processing systems/procedures and create alignment between processes and resources towards achieving Namibia Dairies production targets.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Plan and oversee daily production activities across all sections to ensure seamless workflow and operational efficiency
- Support the development of weekly production schedules to enable operations to achieve OTIF targets
- Coordinate production schedules to meet output targets while maintaining quality standards and minimizing downtime
- Ensure effective communication between Warehouse, Packaging, Processing, Cooler, and UHT sections
- Track, analyse, and report on key production metrics, identifying areas for continuous improvement
- Support the Business Processes Coordinator in developing policies and procedures aligned to operational and long-term strategic goals, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Review and update processing policies, procedures, and SOPs to ensure compliance with new legislation, ISO standards, and organisational targets
- Collaborate with Quality, Packaging, UHT, and Warehouse departments to ensure full operational functionality
- Support the implementation of corrective actions arising from audit findings in a timely manner
- Assist with planning resource allocation and optimizing asset utilisation to achieve production targets
- Utilise systems and processes to monitor, track, and optimise productivity and operational standards
- Support the accurate and efficient execution of approved production plans
- Prepare and submit a monthly production overview report to the Senior Production Manager
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Degree in Food Science, Production Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 3–5 years’ experience in a production environment, preferably within the dairy or food manufacturing industry
- Experience coordinating production processes and supporting operational teams
