Job Description:
To manage the legal collections of arrears and bad debts of all Bank products, by leading collection staff with the aim to keep provisions in acceptable limits and reduce losses to the bank

- Prioritise resource allocation to minimise and reduce wastage.
- Monitor costs for the financial year in line with the operational plan.
- Allocate and approve expenditure within delegated authority.
- Review cost reports and resolve or explain budget variances.
- Identify, control, and escalate potential risks that may lead to increased costs.
- Manage costs and expenses within approved budgets to achieve efficiencies.
- Provide input into the budgeting process and monitor utilisation throughout the financial year.
- Produce and review budget reports to ensure accurate reflection of work activity.
- Ensure financial documentation is maintained for accurate record keeping and legislative compliance.
- Escalate potential budget risks that may result in increased costs or financial losses.
- Present work proposals for planned activities requiring financial resources.
- Collate, analyse, and evaluate data to forecast expenditure and cash flow trends.
- Make recommendations to improve budget planning and utilisation.
- Ensure full understanding of customer needs to deliver quality service.
- Align customer service solutions with the operational plan, organisational values, and service standards.
- Communicate customer service solutions clearly and secure stakeholder buy-in.
- Ensure product knowledge and advice are technically accurate and relevant.
- Resolve customer queries and complaints timeously, taking ownership of issues.
- Analyse customer feedback to identify opportunities for service improvement.
- Propose and implement initiatives to enhance customer service.
- Build strong relationships to manage expectations, share knowledge, and create alignment.
- Engage cross-functionally to obtain and provide operational support.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, legislative, policy, and governance requirements.
- Implement relevant policies, governance frameworks, and practice standards.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative amendments, industry best practices, and internal compliance requirements.
- Ensure systems and procedures comply with organisational standards and audit requirements.
- Develop an understanding of risks and appropriate risk management approaches.
- Provide input into governance and compliance procedures within area of specialisation.
- Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Educate others on compliance requirements and suggest improvements.
- Participate in specialist risk forums where required.
- Improve business decisions by providing accurate and reliable business intelligence.
- Analyse trends and data to support decision-making.
- Provide regular reports on service delivery against SLAs and customer targets.
- Accumulate and analyse information to track work progress and identify improvement opportunities.
- Provide input into the development of tactical strategies aligned to overall business strategy.
- Develop and implement operational plans to achieve business objectives.
- Manage team delivery against goals within area of responsibility.
- Manage performance moderation, disciplinary action, recognition, and retention in line with HR policies.
- Participate in talent management and employment equity initiatives.
- Set clear goals and objectives and provide direction, coaching, and regular feedback.
- Ensure effective skills transfer within the team.
- Manage conflict resolution and address employee complaints or concerns.
- Set stretch goals and motivate teams to achieve high performance.

You will be an ideal candidate if you:
- Diploma in Credit or any other Finance related Diploma/Degree
- 5 – 7 years Banking experience, including knowledge in credit and legal collection process.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
