Unik Construction Engineering has grown from a small building contractor into a competitive large corporation with 20 years’ steadfast development, Established in 1996 in Botswana, the company has established branches in Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa in 2007, 2009 and 2013 respectively. Unik Construction Engineering Namibia (Pty) Ltd, registered in 2013, located at 26 Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, Windhoek, specializes in larger scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.
Responsibilities:
- Previous working experience as a Quantity Surveyor for +5 years in road construction and/or water supply infrastructure projects would be an advantage.
- Prepare and manage project cost estimates, BOQs, and tender documents.
- Monitor project budgets and conduct cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Evaluate subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison reports.
- Prepare interim payment certificates and final accounts.
- Conduct site measurements and valuation of completed works.
- Assist in contract administration in accordance with FIDIC or other applicable contract forms.
- Monitor variations, claims, and contractual disputes.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams regarding cost-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with contractual, financial, and statutory requirements.
- Provide cost analysis and financial forecasting reports to management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a QS, preferably in road construction and water supply infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and construction cost control procedures.
- Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office (Excel required).
- Good understanding of Namibian construction regulations and industry practices.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Fluency in English; Chinese language skills will be an advantage.
- Namibian citizens or candidates holding valid Namibian work permits will be given preference.
