Job Description

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To provide expertise and support and to ensure optimal stock levels by monitoring and replenishing through buying and supplier negotiation, in order to increase quality and turnaround time in alignment with predefined work objectives (as per agreed standard operating procedures).

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure vehicle maintenance is carried out and all vehicles are in optimum state for use.
  • Manage and maintain the demand planning system and software.
  • Manage working capital in line with the predetermined targets set by line management.
  • Develop best practices to improve the forecasting process to better anticipate customer needs.
  • Liaise on a daily basis with relevant Process Owners regarding compliance with the production plan.
  • Adhere to stock availability, general service levels, and sales volume targets.
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to the demand planning process.
  • Identify, investigate, and coordinate the management of slow-moving and obsolete stock.
  • Steer inventories at branches in line with indicated demand and agreed stock holding parameters.
  • Perform all other ad hoc duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

  • Minimum Grade 12.
  • 4-year Degree in Supply Chain or Industrial Engineering.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office programmes; Hansa system experience is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience in an FMCG environment.
  • Basic understanding of Sales and Operations Planning.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Time management skills and ability to plan effectively.
  • Adaptability and dependability skills.
  • Takes initiative and works independently.
  • Namibian Citizenship.
