Job Description

Unik Construction Engineering has grown from a small building contractor into a competitive large corporation with 20 years’ steadfast development, Established in 1996 in Botswana, the company has established branches in Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa in 2007, 2009 and 2013 respectively. Unik Construction Engineering Namibia (Pty) Ltd, registered in 2013, located at 26 Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, Windhoek, specializes in larger scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.

 

BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • ACCA, CFA, or CA qualification preferred.
  • Audit firm experience will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction or related industries.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems such as Pastel or Sage One.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly for financial modelling and analysis.

ADVANCED REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements, including IFRS.
  • Experience preparing financial statements, tax filings, and compliance reports.
  • Ability to maintain the company’s compliance position, including tax and statutory obligations.
  • Experience in budgeting and forecasting for construction projects and operations.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with banks (for facilities/guarantees) and insurance providers.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills to manage and motivate finance teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with executives, investors, lenders, and regulatory authorities.
