Job Description

To maintain the Plant Process Control System for maximum availability and productive Process Control. This includes the maintenance activities for the Process network and equipment connected to this Network, as well as the maintenance of all process changes as described in Process change requests.

 

Key Performance Areas:

  • Conduct critical safety interlocks on equipment and ensure all documentation for interlock testing is completed, signed off, and properly filed.
  • Ensure detailed commissioning is performed on all system changes in accordance with procedures and standards.
  • Comply with site programming standards and ensure all relevant documentation is updated and maintained.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective process control standards and overall system quality.
  • Update anti-virus programs to secure process networks and manage network connectivity in line with security principles.
  • Ensure redundant equipment is available for failover and conduct regular tests to maintain system uptime for process control systems.
  • Ensure production reporting data is accurate, available, and properly maintained.
  • Conduct regular audits and maintain version control on both software and hardware systems.
  • Prepare technical specifications for repair, maintenance, and installation projects.
  • Address compliance issues and implement appropriate corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure compliance with mine safety policies, operational procedures, and processing plant standards.

Requirements and experience:

  • Grade 12 with 20 points over 5 subjects.
  • National Technical Diploma (N6) or equivalent qualification with National Vocational Trade Certificate Level 3 in Instrumentation/Electrical Light Current.
  • Minimum of 3 years post-apprenticeship experience in an engineering environment.
  • Advanced experience with PLC software, hardware configurations, SCADA systems, and industrial networks.
  • Valid Code B/BE Driver’s License.
