Division: Drilling, Loading & Hauling (Husab Site)
Purpose of the Job
To lead and coordinate drilling, loading and hauling operations to optimise resource utilisation, achieve production targets and drive safe, efficient and cost-effective mining operations in support of Beifang’s strategic objectives.
Key Performance Areas
- Lead and manage drilling, loading and hauling operations to achieve production targets.
- Develop and implement operational plans aligned with long-term production objectives.
- Optimise equipment utilisation, labour resources and operational performance.
- Monitor production data, analyse operational trends and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage operational budgets, costs and resource allocation to maximise efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and statutory requirements.
- Build, lead and develop high-performing teams through effective leadership and performance management.
- Liaise with clients and key stakeholders to ensure operational priorities and production objectives are achieved.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree / B.Tech in Mining Engineering (NQF Level 7/8), or National Diploma in Mining Engineering (NQF Level 6)
- Valid Code B / BE Driver’s Licence
- Valid Open Pit Blasting Certificate
Experience:
- Degree: Minimum of 7 years’ open pit mining experience, including at least 5 years in a supervisory or specialist role
- National Diploma: Minimum of 10 years’ open pit mining experience, including at least 7 years in a supervisory or specialist role
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of drilling, loading and hauling operations
- Sound understanding of mine planning, production planning and mining legislation
- Experience in budgeting, cost control and resource management
- Excellent leadership, people management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong analytical, planning and decision-making abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and mining management systems
