Job Summary
The Water Resources Planning and Modelling course is specifically designed to enhance critical skills among water professionals for sustainable water resources management, enabling the simulation of water systems to balance supply with increasing demand, mitigate the impacts of climate change (floods/droughts), and protect ecosystems. The course will equip relevant water resources professionals from Angola and Namibia to provide scientific, quantitative evidence for infrastructure design, water allocation, environmental flows, and policy decisions, ensuring long-term water security for human, environmental, and economic needs within the Cuvélaà and Kunene Basins.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend two virtual sessions on water resources planning and modelling.
- Engage in AI-based techniques and tools for hydrological modelling.
- Apply optimisation and decision-support tools for resource allocation.
- Integrate AI for predictive modelling, scenario analysis, and risk assessment.
- Address uncertainty and create adaptive management strategies for water resources.
