Job Summary
The LAC is inviting dynamic applicants to apply for the above positions, one for the Land, Environment and Development Unit (LEAD) and one for the Social Justice Project (SJP).

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct public interest litigation, research, education and advocacy on land, environment and developmental matters as well as socio-economic rights
- Provide assistance with the development of legal publications as required on these and other human rights topics
- Represent the LAC at different fora
- Attend workshops and lectures on human rights as required
- Submit activity reports to the Project Co-ordinator and LAC management. Attend to any Ad-Hoc functions relevant to the position.
Requirements
- LL.B degree or other recognized Law Degree
- The applicant must be an admitted Legal Practitioner of the High Court of Namibia
- The ability to communicate and negotiate at all levels;
- Minimum 2 years post-admission experience
- Interest in human rights and working with marginalized communities
- A systematic methodical approach to work;
- The willingness and ability to travel out of town and to rural areas on short notice;
- Tolerance and respect for diverse viewpoints and choices.
- Good command of the English language (both written and oral) – proficiency in other languages spoken will be an advantage
