Provide safe, effective and efficient support throughout surgical procedures. The role is responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, preparing and managing surgical instruments, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, check, and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and the operating room.
- Scrub in, assist surgeons directly by anticipating instrument needs, and maintain a strict sterile barrier.
- Perform accurate instrument and sponge counts, dress wounds, and help transfer the patient to recovery.
- Counting stock and ordering stock.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of continuous working experience as a scrub nurse in an active surgical theatre.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques, infection control protocols, and tool/sponge counting procedures.
- Diploma or Degree in General Nursing plus a post-basic qualification in Operating Theatre/Perioperative Nursing.
- Current active registration with the relevant national nursing council (such as the Nursing Council of Namibia or SANC).
