Job Summary

Lady Pohamba Private Hospital invites applications from suitably qualified and compassionate Registered Midwives for the position of Perinatal Consultant / Baby Clinic Nurse. The successful candidate will provide professional maternal and newborn care services, including antenatal support, postnatal care, childhood immunization, lactation support, and the day-to-day coordination of Baby Clinic services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide maternal and newborn nursing care.
• Administer childhood immunizations according to national EPI guidelines.
• Conduct antenatal education classes.
• Provide postnatal and breastfeeding/lactation support.
• Manage Baby Clinic appointments, stock, billing, and records.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation.
• Work collaboratively with the Maternity Unit and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Requirements

• Registered Midwife with a valid professional registration.
• Minimum 5 years’ maternity ward experience.
• Experience in maternal and newborn care.
• Knowledge of breastfeeding support and childhood immunization schedules.
• Strong organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
• Experience with Trifour or another hospital information system is advantageous.
• A valid dispensing license is an added advantage.
