Job Overview

Rosh Pinah Zinc, a leading mining company, is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic (C2) 24 Months – FTC to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our operations.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Trouble shooting / Fault finding and defect rectification on all Mining/Mobile Equipment at the mine
  • Scheduled Maintenance of all Mining/Mobile Equipment including LDV’s and HDV’s
  • Inspecting all Mining/Mobile Equipment including LDV’s and HDV’s
  • Maintenance and Breakdown repairs (Drilling & Blasting Equipment, Load & Haul and Auxiliary Equipment)
  • Ensuring optimal vehicle and earth moving equipment performance
  • Guidance and on the job training of maintenance trainees
  • Perform risk management before commencement of all tasks
  • Adherence to work management standards (Meaningful and comprehensive feedback on job cards to improve maintenance plans and facilitate breakdown and other investigations)
  • Adherence to all health, safety and environmental practices and policies and participation in all related initiatives
  • Practicing good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties as requested by Supervisor, Superintendent or Head of Department

Requirements

  • A recognized Trade Diploma as a Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal qualification)
  • A minimum of 3 years applicable post-qualification technical trade-related experience within the mining industry / underground mining environment
  • Experience with Maintenance systems (D365) will be an added advantage
  • A distinct advantage is given for Experience on: Mining Mobile Equipment
  • This specific position requires that the applicant be able and willing to work shifts, overtime and do standby when required
  • Valid Code B Driver’s License (Code C will be advantageous)
  • Valid Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months)
