Utility Driver – Orano Mining Namibia
Job Description
Orano Mining Namibia is seeking an experienced Utility Driver to safely and efficiently operate various mobile equipment in support of mining and site operations, including dust suppression, haul road maintenance, grading, levelling, and general earthworks, while ensuring compliance with company procedures, and operational requirements. The incumbent is responsible for complying with all applicable company policies, procedures, standards, and legal requirements relating to Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and other areas relevant to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate various equipment, according to company and manufacturer requirements.
- Conduct pre-start inspections and monitor equipment condition, reporting defects or damage.
- Perform grading, levelling, road maintenance and dust suppression to required standards.
- Comply with site traffic rules, safety procedures and hazard controls at all times.
- Complete basic equipment maintenance, housekeeping, refuelling, logbooks and operating records.
- Participate in toolbox talks, training, emergency drills and other duties as required by management.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Valid driver’s licence and competency certificates for graders, water trucks, front-end loaders, excavators, bulldozers, dump trucks, forklifts.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating heavy mobile equipment within a mining, civil, or construction environment.
- Must be Medically fit
