Job Description
Manage and co-ordinate the production team to achieve optimal productivity and effectiveness in the Bakery to ensure quality output and production.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement in production efficiency, processes, and plant performance, including feasibility studies and expansion projects.
- Support product development initiatives aligned with market needs.
- Monitor and optimize operational productivity, cost effectiveness, and equipment performance.
- Ensure consistent product quality, hygiene, food safety, and compliance with ISO and statutory standards.
- Implement corrective actions for non-conformance, customer complaints, and quality deviations.
- Plan and coordinate production, maintenance, manpower, and raw material usage to ensure product availability while minimizing overtime.
- Maintain effective process control, calibration, maintenance systems, and clean working conditions.
- Oversee accurate reporting, documentation, and personnel administration in line with company requirements.
- Prepare, submit, and control the annual departmental budget, ensuring minimal variance and accurate monthly financial reporting.
- Manage departmental equipment purchasing.
- Ensure staff training, development, and compliance with ISO, OHS, and company standards.
- Supervise staff performance, productivity, efficiency, and quality of work.
- Manage staffing levels and shift planning.
- Handle disciplinary matters, grievances, and support sound HR practices.
Requirements
- 10 Years’ relevant experience in Production in a Bakery Plant.
- 3 years’ experience in a Managerial position.
- Experience in FMCG environment.
- National Higher Diploma/Certificate NQF Level 5.
- Certificate in the theory of Breadmaking from South African Chamber of Baking.
- Technical background will be an added advantage.
- Wheat grading certificate would be an added advantage.
- Fumigation Certificate would be an added advantage.
- Proficient in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- People Management skills.
- Namibian citizen / eligibility to work in Namibia.
