Unik Construction Engineering has grown from a small building contractor into a competitive large corporation with 20 years’ steadfast development, Established in 1996 in Botswana, the company has established branches in Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa in 2007, 2009 and 2013 respectively. Unik Construction Engineering Namibia (Pty) Ltd, registered in 2013, located at 26 Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, Windhoek, specializes in larger scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and administer construction contracts throughout the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
- Lead contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers when required.
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and contractual obligations to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Review, interpret, and manage contracts under standard forms such as FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, or GCC.
- Evaluate project costs and participate in preparing project budgets and cost control measures.
- Identify contractual risks, variations, and claims, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth contract execution.
- Coordinate with project teams, site management, and department heads to ensure contract compliance and effective project delivery.
- Prepare contract documentation, reports, and correspondence related to contractual matters.
- Oversee the performance of subcontractors and vendors in accordance with contractual obligations and project quality standards.
- Ensure project activities comply with company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance contract management processes and project efficiency.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–8 years of experience in construction contract management, preferably in infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of standard construction contracts such as FIDIC, NEC, JBCC, or GCC.
- Proven experience in contract negotiation, contract administration, and claims management.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, cost control, and risk management.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
