About the Role
BHL GROUP is seeking an experienced Creditors Controller to oversee and manage all creditor operations within the organization. The role is responsible for ensuring accurate processing, compliance with financial policies, and effective control over creditor transactions. The successful candidate will play a vital role in safeguarding financial integrity while leading the creditors function and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all creditor accounting activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance
Manage and control the recording, processing, and reconciliation of creditor transactions
Supervise and support the Creditors Clerk to ensure high performance and compliance
Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and financial regulations
Identify discrepancies, investigate variances, and implement corrective actions
Prepare creditor reports and reconciliations for management review
Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to resolve creditor queries
Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, control, and reporting accuracy
Support audits and ensure readiness for financial reviews
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA or equivalent certification preferred
3-5 years’ experience in creditor accounting or related roles
At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory capacity
Proven experience in accounts payable or similar role
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Strong numerical aptitude and exceptional attention to detail
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Sound understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and compliance requirements
Demonstrated leadership ability with experience building and motivating high-performing teams
