Job Description

Unik Construction Engineering has grown from a small building contractor into a competitive large corporation with 20 years’ steadfast development, Established in 1996 in Botswana, the company has established branches in Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa in 2007, 2009 and 2013 respectively. Unik Construction Engineering Namibia (Pty) Ltd, registered in 2013, located at 26 Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, Windhoek, specializes in larger scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate all drainage construction activities on site.
  • Lead and manage labour, plant operators, and subcontractors.
  • Ensure installation of drainage systems (culverts, stormwater, subsoil, channels) is completed according to drawings and specifications.
  • Check levels, gradients, and alignment of all drainage works.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings and set out work accordingly.
  • Monitor daily productivity and ensure work is completed on schedule.
  • Enforce health and safety standards and conduct toolbox talks.
  • Inspect work quality and ensure compliance with project standards.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, surveyors, and project management teams.
  • Manage materials and plant usage efficiently, minimizing waste.
  • Report daily progress, delays, and site issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in civil construction.
  • At least 3–5 years’ experience in a foreman or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience in drainage, roads, or earthworks projects.
  • National Certificate or Diploma in Civil Engineering (advantageous).
  • Trade-related qualification (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license.
