Namib Poultry (Pty) Ltd is a fully integrated broiler production operation established in 2012 and situated 30km north of Windhoek on the A1 Highway on the farm Klein Okapuka. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
- Attend to machine and equipment breakdowns and repairs within the designated Production Department and perform maintenance repairs as per instruction by the designated Process Leader / Supervisor.
- Perform daily inspections on production equipment in designated areas.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform preventative maintenance tasks and actions.
- Ensure maximum processing machine and equipment uptime as required.
• Maintain and repair faulty equipment cost-effectively.
- Perform systematic and correct fault-finding.
- Adhere to the supplier`s warranty instructions and company rules when repairing equipment.
- Affect repairs according to the manufacturer’s specifications and maintenance processes.
- Test equipment before Slaughtering
- Follow-up and feedback reporting as required.
- Perform ELS start-up and ensure ELS is Functioning
- Inspect processing equipment daily and report defects to the designated Process Leader/Supervisor
- Check counters.
- Eliminate and Minimize Plant Down Time
- Clean and check all equipment as required.
- Perform ad hoc tasks as needed.
• Adherence to SHEQ regulations.
- Strict adherence to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality policies and legislation.
- Minimize incidents and accidents and complete reports for submission to Designated Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Grade 10 NQF level 2- and 5-years work experience in relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 (five) years related experience in equipment maintenance within manufacturing or production environment with a strong technical background.
• Namibian citizen
• Proficient in English, being bilingual will be advantageous.
• Must be willing and able to work shifts, weekends, overtime, Sundays, and public holidays.
