Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To maintain the relationship between employees, management, and labor unions. To ensure compliance with labour laws, handle workplace disputes, and create policies that promote a fair and productive work environment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Mediate and resolve workplace conflicts and disputes, ensuring fair and constructive resolutions for all parties involved.
- Promote open and transparent communication between employees and management to foster trust and cooperation.
- Educate employees on company policies, procedures, and relevant labour laws to minimize potential disputes and legal risks.
- Facilitate disciplinary hearings in accordance with the Employee Relations (ER) Policy and Procedure.
- Provide expert advice on employment contracts, company policies, and workplace regulations.
- Stay up to date with relevant employment laws and regulations to ensure full organizational compliance.
- Assist in implementing and communicating all ER-related policies and procedures across the organization.
- Plan and deliver ER-related training programmes to enhance employee knowledge, including training on chairing and initiating disciplinary hearings.
Minimum Qualification & Experience Requirement:
- Degree in Industrial Psychology/Human Resources specializing in Labour Relations.
- Minimum 5 years in Employee Relations role.
- Excellent knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
