Job Description
Position: External Installation Electrician (C2) (24 Months FTC)
Rosh Pinah Zinc, a leading mining company, is seeking a skilled Installation Electrician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidates will play a pivotal role in our operations.
Your Key Areas of Responsibility:
Conduct electrical and refrigeration (HVAC) inspections, testing, and certification in accordance with approved standards and regulations.
Inspect, test, and issue Electrical Certificates of Compliance (CoC) for mine-owned offices, residential housing, and surface facilities.
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical legislation, codes of practice, safety standards, and company requirements, including SANS 10142-1.
Identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain, update, and control all compliance records, inspection reports, and certification documentation.
Verify and accept electrical and refrigeration work completed by contractors through post-work inspections.
Liaise with relevant plant, facilities, and mine personnel at different levels regarding compliance and certification matters.
Support internal, statutory, insurance, and audit inspections when required.
Ensure and maintain a healthy environment, safe operations, and safe electrical practices.
Perform fair and reasonable tasks related to the job and working environment, at the discretion of the Supervisor.
Ideally, you will have:
Recognized Trade Diploma as a Qualified Electrician / Installation Electrician.
Valid Wireman’s License in accordance with Namibian electrical regulations.
Paper 1 & 2 / 3 phase unit standard (A Must).
Registered with the relevant Namibian Electrical Control / Regulatory Board and legally authorized to issue Electrical Certificates of Compliance.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in electrical installation, inspection, testing, and compliance.
Sound knowledge of electrical regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
Exposure to refrigeration and HVAC electrical systems (added advantage).
Valid Driver’s License.
Proficiency in English.
Valid Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months).
