Position: Finance Supervisor – Port & Logistics Industry
Reporting to: Finance Manager / Operations Manager
Location: Walvis Bay

Purpose of the Position
The Finance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily financial operations within port and logistics activities. This role ensures accuracy in financial records, compliance with accounting standards, timely billing, and effective support for operational decision-making. The position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to lead a finance team in a fast-paced logistics environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Control
Oversee daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash management.
Review and approve financial documents related to port operations, logistics services, vessel disbursements, and transport activities.
Reconcile bank accounts, control accounts, and operational financial records.
Identify financial risks, discrepancies, or operational inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
Team Leadership & Supervision
Supervise finance clerks and ensure accuracy in invoices, receipts, and payment processing.
Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping to support internal and external audits.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting
Monitor budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control activities for departments such as shipping, warehousing, and transport.
Prepare monthly financial reports, including variance analysis and performance summaries.
Support management with financial data, analysis, and decision-making tools.
Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure timely billing of port services, storage charges, handling fees, and transportation costs.
Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments to support accurate and efficient financial processes.
Compliance
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and relevant financial regulations.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Grade 12.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a port or logistics finance environment.
Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Valid Code B (08) Driver’s License.
Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months).
