Fleet Supervisor – CIC

Job Description

Responsible for assisting the Fleet Manager in selecting the right vehicles and maintaining them in good operating conditions so that the company can meet its distribution objectives efficiently and cost-effectively.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensure vehicle maintenance is carried out and all vehicles are in optimum state for use.
  • Maintain records to demonstrate that fleet operations comply with Namibian laws and regulations.
  • Ensure H&S procedures around vehicles are adhered to.
  • Ensure that weekly fleet inspections are carried out.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are continuously kept up to date with changes regarding the fleet.
  • Ensure leadership receives reporting to support managerial decision making.
  • Escalate matters relating to risk and compliance to relevant parties regarding the fleet.
  • Ensure fuel usage consumption is recorded as per set procedures.
  • Responsible for registering and licensing each vehicle, ensuring that licences are always up to date.
  • Perform vehicle insurance formalities and documentation regarding induction of new vehicles into the existing fleet.
  • Manage service provider relationships.
  • Make decisions about the types of vehicles to acquire and the most suitable method of financing the fleet.
  • Organise replacements and disposal of damaged or old vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

  • Minimum Grade 12.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in a supply chain environment, alternatively 5 years’ experience without a formal qualification.
  • Previous experience in a similar position in the FMCG market would be a distinct advantage.
  • Strong supervisory and motivational skills.
  • Above average communication skills.
  • Time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Adaptability and dependability skills.
  • Takes initiative and works independently.
  • Namibian Citizenship.
