INNOVATION & TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST × 2
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To research, design, lead and manage the implementation of innovation-driven technical
ICT infrastructure, enterprise software and Microsoft technology projects within
Namport, acting as internal project manager. This role is fundamental in supporting the
organization’s digital transformation by identifying emerging technologies and trends,
translating them into practical solutions, and working cross-functionally to implement
these innovations. The role reports directly to the Manager: ICT Development and
Innovation.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
▪ Lead and manage ICT innovation projects, ensuring successful planning, execution,
and delivery within the designated area of specialization (Infrastructure, Enterprise
Applications, or Microsoft technologies).
VACANCY
▪ Lead the design, configuration, and deployment of technical solutions aligned with
organizational ICT architecture and business objectives. Serve as a subject matter
expert in your area of specialization (ICT infrastructure, enterprise applications, or Microsoft technologies),
providing advanced technical knowledge and hands-on
expertise.
▪ Lead the design, planning, and execution of infrastructure projects, including network expansion,
data centre development, and cloud solutions, to meet evolving business
needs. Continuously assess and integrate new technologies to enhance scalability, resilience, and efficiency.
▪ Oversee the deployment, upgrading, and optimization of enterprise applications
(ERP, CRM, TOS) to improve operational efficiency and support organizational goals.
▪ Lead the adoption, integration, and optimization of Microsoft solutions
(Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Platform) to align with organizational objectives.
▪ Collaborate with business stakeholders, including department heads and super users,
to gather requirements and set priorities that align with organizational goals.
▪ Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to identify innovative solutions
that enhance ICT capabilities and improve business operations. Conduct
market research to evaluate new tools, methodologies, and technologies, recommending those
that align with organizational goals.
▪ Work closely with ICT teams and internal departments to ensure seamless integration of new
technologies, coordinate and co-develop solutions.
▪ Manage technology innovation projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery
within budget and to required quality standards.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
▪ An Honours Degree [NQF Level 8] in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Software
Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
▪ A Master’s Degree [NQF Level 9] in Information Communication Technology (ICT), Software
Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent is an added advantage.
▪ Certification in Project Management(PMP, CAPM, PgMP, CSM, PMI-ACP, Prince2, AIPM, Project+, PPM),
ICT infrastructure, enterprise software and Microsoft
technologies (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, Cisco Certified Network
Professional, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP),
CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Cloud+, enterprise systems certifications (ERP, TOS etc),
hypervisor (VMWare, Hyper-V, Oracle, Cytrx etc.), hardware vendor certifications
or Microsoft software infrastructure certifications is an added advantage.
▪ Minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in ICT hardware and software infrastructure
project management implementing complex innovative solutions, of which
two (2) years should have been in a senior supervisory capacity as a technology specialist having
demonstrated focus and implementations on the Microsoft technologies,
ICT infrastructure or enterprise applications.
▪ Demonstrated experience in managing complex cross-functional projects, include a strong knowledge of
ICT infrastructure, architecture, and system integration as well
as familiarity in emerging technologies (e.g., AI, IoT, cloud computing), digital
transformation trends, and innovation methodologies.
▪ Driver’s License.
▪ Strong ability to manage projects.
▪ Excellent communication skills.
▪ Must be a Namibian citizen.
