Namib Poultry (Pty) Ltd is a fully integrated broiler production operation established in 2012 and situated 30 km north of Windhoek

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
To perform general maintenance tasks associated with the department within the farming operations area, ensuring maximum
mechanical uptime and compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality (SHEQ) regulations.
KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Preventative Maintenance
Execute preventative maintenance tasks to ensure maximum mechanical uptime of equipment in the Breeders department.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance activities to identify potential issues before they escalate.
• Maintenance Job Requests
Complete maintenance job requests promptly and efficiently, addressing issues and malfunctions reported by production
personnel.
Prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks based on urgency and impact on production operations.
• Equipment Repair
Systematically and correctly identify faults in equipment through effective fault-finding techniques.
Adhere to the supplier’s warranty instructions and company rules when repairing equipment.
Perform equipment repairs according to manufacturer’s specifications and established maintenance processes.
• Testing and Handover
Conduct thorough testing of repaired equipment before handover to production personnel, ensuring proper functionality.
Provide follow-up and feedback reporting as required on completed maintenance and repair tasks.
• Cleaning and Servicing
Clean and service all equipment as required to maintain optimal performance and longevity.
Conduct regular cleaning schedules for machinery and tools used in maintenance activities.
• Adherence to SHEQ and Bio Security Regulations
Strictly adhere to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) policies and procedures.
Strictly follow biosecurity regulations to prevent the spread of diseases and maintain a hygienic working environment.
• General
Performing additional ad-hoc task as required by management.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Grade 12 (NQF 4)
• Technical certification or diploma in maintenance, engineering, or a related field will be advantageous
• 2 (Two) years of work experience in a maintenance workshop-related environment
• Namibian citizen
• Proficient in English, being bilingual will be an advantage.
• Able to work shifts, weekends, overtime, Sundays, and on public holidays.
