company, now warrants appointment in the following vacancy:

 

Manager: Data Analytics & BI (D4)

The incumbent will report to the: General Manager: Information Technology

 

 

Job Competencies Include:

 

The role is responsible for the development, execution, and supervision of plans,

policies, programs, and practices that deliver, control, protect, and enhance the value of

data and information assets throughout their lifecycles. The role is further responsible

for driving operations and establishing the strategy of data management in the

organisation.

 

  • Align the data and big data strategies with the overall business strategy to support

business objectives.

 

  • Drive the organisational data strategy, aligning data-centric requirements with available IT

and business resources.

 

  • Develop, implement, and enforce a comprehensive data governance framework to ensure

compliance with industry standards, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.

 

  • Ensure strict adherence to governance frameworks, policies, and data protection

regulations, aligning with global and industry-specific compliance standards.

 

  • Establish strategies to mitigate or reduce the impact of risks, including creating

contingency plans and implementing preventive measures.

 

  • Develop and manage metrics to track and enhance the effectiveness of data analytics and

business intelligence.

 

  • Lead a team of diverse data management professionals to drive and further enhance the

data-driven culture.

 

  • Continuously research industry trends affecting the entire IT department to analyse

current efforts and propose appropriate recommendations to improve current business

processes and operations, with a strong emphasis on data.

 

  • Support all business units with data analytics needs.

 

 

Qualifications and Personal Competencies:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business

Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.

 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ management-level experience with data governance frameworks, AI

technologies, and business intelligence.

 

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with business intelligence software (Qlik Sense, Tableau,

etc.).

 

  • Data analytics-related certifications will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience managing departmental budgets.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a managerial role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards, frameworks, and best practices.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data security and privacy regulations.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and mitigating data-related risks.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Must be a Namibian citizen or have permanent residency.
