Job Description
Primary Purpose of the position:
- The role is accountable for specific financial and administrative processes, as well as compliance with the New Public Procurement Act of 2015 (Act No 15 of 2015) pertaining to executing the Procurement function at Social Security Commission. The incumbent is a Professional Functional Specialist responsible to plan for the year ahead, compiling budgets for the particular cost centres and ensuring that all processes and systems are continuously improved upon. The role has a strong interactive and cross-functional aspect, as all Line Managers and staff will work with the Procurement Management Unit in various capacities. The Manager will implement Programs as sanctioned by the Minister of Finance via legal entities such as the Central Procurement Board, Procurement Policy Unit and procurement Review Pan, as promulgated per the Public Procurement Act of 2015 (Act No 15 of 2015)

- Supply Chain Management (Procurement as a single process within the management system)
- Contractor Management and optimisation
- Financial Planning, Management and Control
- Customer Care (Internal and External
- Leadership and Capacity Building (SSC wide for the function) and internal for own department
- Human Resource Management and Performance Management of own Department
Job Requirements
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree with Honours in Procurement and Supply Chain Management
- Registration with the Charted Institute of Procurement (CIPS) will put the incumbent at a distinct advantage.
- Master Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
- At least 8 – 10 years working experience in corporate procurement and financial administration.
- At least 5 years at Supervisory / Managerial levels will be required.
- A procurement or property specialisation would be an advantage.
- Valid Code B Drivers License

- Availability to travel as and when required.
