Packaging Assistants (x5 Positions) – Namibia Dairies
Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To assist with the day to day operations within the Packaging department by collecting and counting crates, checking best before dates on packaging material and pack finished products, to ensure that daily planned production is achieved.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Receive daily production plan from Machine Operator or Technical Operator.
- Collect crates according to the production plan.
- Check that crates provided to production lines are clean and undamaged.
- Report damaged crates to the Team Leader Packaging.
- Pack finished products into crates.
- Perform spot checks on finished products to verify that the correct flavour is packed in the correct packaging material.
- Check that products are properly sealed before packing into crates.
- Check expiry dates on packaging material.
- Ensure labels are correctly placed on packaging material and report any deficiencies immediately.
- Handle finished goods with caution to avoid damage to packaging material.
- Properly load crates onto the conveyor for the cooler.
- Perform daily stock counts of finished products and submit count sheets to the Team Leader Packaging.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Grade 10 certificate
- 1 year experience in a Packaging Environment and FMCG manufacturing plant.
