Nampharm, a leading wholesaler and distributor of healthcare products, medical supplies and consumer goods in Namibia, has a vacancy for a: Product Manager (Buyer)
Overview:
The incumbent will manage assigned pharmaceutical and consumer-related products in line with Nampharm’s policies and SOPs, with monthly KPI-based reporting to the Procurement Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Procurement and Inventory Management
- Registered Pharmacist with the Health Professions Council of Namibia (HPCNA)
- In-depth knowledge of Namibian regulatory requirements for pharmaceutical products
- Knowledge of import and export procedures and documentation for registered and non-registered pharmaceutical products
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market trends and data
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Proven leadership skills to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams
- Strong time management, logical reasoning, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and across departments
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with suppliers and internal teams
- Applicants must be in good physical and mental condition
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Procure registered pharmaceutical products in compliance with local and international laws governing the trade of medicines
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure favourable trade agreements and pricing in line with Nampharm policies and KPIs
- Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, including terms and conditions
- Support Warehouse and Telesales teams by resolving product-related queries
- Manage stock within assigned portfolio by monitoring stock levels, placing orders, managing expired and excess stock, and ensuring pricing accuracy
- Provide Telesales with product information, including availability and expected arrival dates
- Liaise with medical representatives and suppliers to build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Handle Schedule 4 (S4) medications, including receiving, dispensing, and maintaining accurate Schedule 4 registers
- Serve as the Pharmacist-on-Call on a rotational basis for after-hours emergency requests
