Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To uphold the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation across all facets of public areas, ensuring an immaculate and welcoming environment for guests and staff alike.
Key Performance Areas:
- Address all guest complaints courteously and professionally, providing feedback and escalating issues to management when necessary
- Articulate and maintain developed standards, product knowledge, and grooming protocols effectively
- Continuously monitor service quality to ensure alignment with brand standards and quality guidelines
- Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation of lobbies, corridors, and other public areas
- Clean and maintain floors, carpets, windows, furniture, and other surfaces using appropriate equipment and cleaning solutions
- Perform periodic deep cleaning tasks, including carpet shampooing, floor polishing, and window cleaning
- Hand over lost property to the security department while accurately maintaining the lost-and-found register
- Use correct chemicals and quantities on designated surfaces in accordance with established safety protocols
- Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner, responding promptly to requests and concerns to ensure a positive guest experience
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum Grade 12
- Minimum 1 year experience as a public area cleaner in a 4- or 5-star luxury hotel or lodge environment
- Knowledge of housekeeping procedures, cleaning techniques, and the use of cleaning equipment, linen, and chemicals
- Excellent knowledge of culinary arts and a passion for creating new and innovative dishes
- High attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning
