Quality Control Officer

CREO Engineering Solutions is a Namibian engineering consultancy providing multidisciplinary engineering, project management and technical consulting services to the mining, industrial and infrastructure sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control Officer to implement and enforce the Project Quality Control Plan on a major EPCM project. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction and supply activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, inspection requirements and client quality standards throughout project execution.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Implement the Project Quality Control Plan, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and coordinate hold and witness points with construction teams and the Client.
• Perform and witness inspections of civil, structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation works, ensuring compliance with approved specifications and quality requirements.
• Review contractor quality documentation, including Quality Control Plans (QCPs), method statements, material certificates and inspection records.
• Manage non-conformance (NCR) and concession processes, ensuring timely close-out and verification of corrective actions.
• Review supplier and subcontractor data books and support the compilation of project handover documentation.
• Conduct quality surveillance, site audits and awareness activities to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements

• National Diploma, Trade Qualification or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, supported by formal Quality Control training.
• Minimum of 5–7 years’ quality control or inspection experience on EPCM, mining, industrial or major construction projects.
• Sound knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality documentation, welding and material traceability, and non-conformance management.
• Relevant certifications such as ISO 9001 Internal/Lead Auditor, CSWIP, NDT or equivalent will be advantageous.
• Strong communication, organisational and reporting skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
