Key Responsibilities

– Identify product opportunities and innovations that enhance and support the Waltons corporate identity.
– Design appealing retail layouts, displays and marketing that highlight the Waltons brand look & feel.
– Recommend sales initiatives, campaigns, and company concepts which will lead to further retail growth.
– Ensure product selection is aligned with market trends.
– Reporting is a crucial function and in-depth analysis of customer trends, habits, preferences and buying patterns is paramount.
– Seek ways to better promote the stores, product lines, and services.
– Maintain proper inventory levels, implement stocking and replenishing plans to ensure maximum efficiency in meeting sales goals.
– Ensure stores always remain attractive, inviting, and profitable in terms of square meters vs. rent vs. trading profit.
– Instrumental in planning and setting up new stores, relocating, and revamping of current stores.
– Execute action plans that are in line with company strategies, promotions, specials, and dead stock management.
– Optimise labour deployment to ensure stores are properly staffed and scheduled to deliver legendary customer experiences.

Requirements

– Degree in Sales & Marketing or Project Management will be an advantage.
– Minimum 10 years retail sales and merchandising experience within a FMCG environment of which 5 years should be in a leading role.
– Experience in new store openings and various merchandising equipment and fittings.
– Excellent analytical as well as written and oral communication skills in English and Afrikaans are essential.
– Computer knowledge and skills are essential.
– Exceptional organisational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
– Valid Driver’s Licence.
– Namibian Citizenship
