Job Description

Unik Construction Engineering has grown from a small building contractor into a competitive large corporation with 20 years’ steadfast development, Established in 1996 in Botswana, the company has established branches in Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa in 2007, 2009 and 2013 respectively. Unik Construction Engineering Namibia (Pty) Ltd, registered in 2013, located at 26 Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, Windhoek, specializes in larger scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform precise setting out of road center lines, curves, drainage structures (culverts, bridges), and level control for pavement layers.
  • Conduct topographical surveys and establish ground models for earthworks calculations.
  • Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment, particularly GPS (RTK) and Total Stations.
  • Work closely with the construction manager and engineers to ensure compliance with design drawings and project specifications.
  • Verify quantities and conduct joint measurements with consultants for progress payment claims.
  • Maintain accurate field books, as-built records, and daily survey reports.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies between site conditions and technical drawings.
  • Ensure all survey activities adhere to safety regulations and project quality standards.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant surveying experience, preferably in road construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments such as Total Station, GPS, and Auto Level.
  • Familiarity with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other relevant software.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
