Job Description
Unik Construction Engineering has grown from a small building contractor into a competitive large corporation with 20 years’ steadfast development, Established in 1996 in Botswana, the company has established branches in Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa in 2007, 2009 and 2013 respectively. Unik Construction Engineering Namibia (Pty) Ltd, registered in 2013, located at 26 Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, Windhoek, specializes in larger scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the project Health & Safety Management Plan.
- Ensure compliance with Namibian regulations, railway authority requirements, and company HSE standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, site inspections, and safety audits.
- Supervise subcontractors and enforce safe working procedures on site.
- Investigate incidents and prepare safety reports.
- Organize safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing safety training.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in construction safety, with railway or heavy civil project experience preferred.
- Relevant qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or Engineering.
- Professional safety certification (NEBOSH or equivalent will be an advantage).
- Strong knowledge of site safety management and risk control.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to work in remote project locations.
- Namibian citizens or candidates holding valid Namibian work permits will be given preference.
