Job Description

Unik Construction Engineering has grown from a small building contractor into a competitive large corporation with 20 years’ steadfast development, Established in 1996 in Botswana, the company has established branches in Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa in 2007, 2009 and 2013 respectively. Unik Construction Engineering Namibia (Pty) Ltd, registered in 2013, located at 26 Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, Windhoek, specializes in larger scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.

 

Basic Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required. ACCA/CFA/CA preferred; audit firm experience preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction or related industries is preferred.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with management software or accounting tools such as Pastel or SageOne. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is particularly important for financial modelling and analysis.

Advanced Requirements:

  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Proficiency in financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements specific to the construction industry, including preparing financial statements, tax filings, and compliance reports in accordance with IFRS and other relevant regulations. Maintain the company’s compliant position including tax and other aspects.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Experience in developing and managing budgets for construction projects and ongoing operations.
  • Financing: Maintain strong external relationships with banks for facility/guarantee requests and with insurance providers for related services.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership and collaboration skills to build and motivate teams to achieve financial objectives.
  • Communication and Presentation Skills: Ability to effectively present financial information to internal and external stakeholders, including executives, investors, lenders, and regulatory authorities.
