Senior Officer: Procurement – Swakop Uranium

Job Description

To prepare, examine, analise, negotiate and revise bidding documents and contracts that involve the purchase of goods and services such as equipment, materials, supplies, or products in accordance with company policies and procedures.

 

Key Performance Areas:

  • Execute transactional procurement tasks with high quality delivery standards in order to meet business objectives.
  • Organize resources into a series of planned activities in order to achieve specified outcomes in a defined time period/span.
  • Co-ordinate negotiations with major suppliers in an effort to obtain more advantageous terms of business.
  • Draft a robust contract that accurately captures the commercial and legal terms agreed between the Company and related supplier.
  • Manage the contractual relationship with the supplier.
  • Respond to customer needs by placing orders and resolving issues and monitoring Service Level Agreements (SLA).
  • Negotiate preferred supplier discounts and effect cost reduction.
  • Ensure that contracts are up-to-date and electronically available at all times.
  • Maintain all contract documentation and ensure files are maintained in a logical and sound sequence.
  • Ensure that contracts meet pertinent legal contractual requirements at all times.
  • Identify potential contract items and take necessary steps to ensure such items are added to existing contracts or appropriate contracts are established.
  • Verify supplier invoices and supporting documentation in line with contractual agreements and submit to relevant section for Goods Receipt.

Requirements and experience:

  • B-Tech / Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement Management or related field.
  • 5 years’ experience in preparation, administration and monitoring of bidding documents and contracts.
  • Advanced Certificate in Contract Administration will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in contract/purchase order management and administration.
  • Experience using office support systems (e.g. SAP and Microsoft Office).
  • Experience in procurement involving high risk, high value, complex services and commodities.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing technical terms and commercial schedules.
  • Experience in designing professional contracts preferred.
  • Mining industry exposure will be an added advantage.
  • Valid Code B or BE/CE Driver’s License.
