Position: Ship Agency Supervisor

Purpose of the Position
The Ship Agency Supervisor oversees all operations related to vessel port calls, ensuring efficient vessel turnaround, seamless coordination with port stakeholders, and timely delivery of services. The role requires strong leadership, communication skills, and operational oversight to uphold service quality and ensure compliance with maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Vessel Operations & Coordination
Oversee all activities related to vessel port calls and ensure efficient turnaround of ships.
Coordinate with port authorities, customs, immigration, and other stakeholders to support smooth port operations.
Ensure all services provided to vessels are delivered on time and meet required quality standards.
Team Leadership & Support
Supervise a team responsible for documentation, crew changes, husbandry services, and supply logistics for vessels.
Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to maintain operational accuracy and performance.
Stakeholder Engagement
Maintain strong communication with ship owners, operators, charterers, and agents to keep them informed of vessel status.
Resolve queries promptly and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the port call process.
Operational Problem-Solving
Address operational challenges or unexpected issues during port stays to prevent delays.
Implement corrective actions and ensure continuity of service delivery.
Compliance & Safety
Monitor compliance with maritime regulations, port rules, and safety standards.
Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and adherence to operational procedures.
Required Characteristics
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
Able to work under pressure, especially during tight operational timelines.
Professional, reliable, and committed to excellence in service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Grade 12.
Minimum 5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in the port or logistics industry.
Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Maritime Studies, or a related field will be an added advantage.
Valid Code B (08) Driver’s License.
Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months).
