SHIPYARD PLANNER – D1

Division: Chief Operations Officer Department: Operations Section: Shipyard Planner Location: Walvis Bay


Primary Purpose of the Position

Liaise and coordinate the docking schedules in close collaboration with the Docking and Commercial teams. Create, coordinate, and maintain the master integrated schedules for ship repair and maintenance projects, ensuring alignment across all phases. Coordinate workflows to secure timely availability of resources, materials, equipment, and labour, keeping projects on track. Act as the central liaison between commercial, marketing, docking, procurement, engineering, and operations teams to streamline communication and execution of projects. Translate technical requirements into actionable plans, monitor progress, and proactively adjust schedules to address delays or evolving project needs.


Key Performance Areas

  • Integrated Dock Planning with project schedules
  • Develop and maintain Integrated Project Master Schedules (IMS)
  • Coordination of resource management and equipment availability
  • Overall Performance Tracking & Risk Management
  • Post project execution
  • Health, Safety, and Risk Management

Minimum Requirements

  • Relevant related degree/diploma NQF level 6/7
  • 5+ years in a project planning and execution, production, marine engineering, or maintenance environment
  • Knowledge of project management principles and scheduling software (Primavera P6 / Microsoft Project) and ERP (SAP) or related systems will be an advantage
  • Leadership Development Program
  • A valid Driver’s License (Code B)
  • Project Management Certification
