Job Description

Unik Construction Engineering has grown from a small building contractor into a competitive large corporation with 20 years’ steadfast development, Established in 1996 in Botswana, the company has established branches in Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa in 2007, 2009 and 2013 respectively. Unik Construction Engineering Namibia (Pty) Ltd, registered in 2013, located at 26 Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, Windhoek, specializes in larger scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Contractor’s on-site representative and manage daily construction activities.
  • Ensure all works are executed in compliance with project specifications, legislation, ESMP, NSMPs, and Employer requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate site teams, including foremen and subcontractors.
  • Support the Environmental Control Officer (ECO) and promote a culture of environmental and safety compliance.
  • Provide necessary resources to ensure effective execution of duties by site teams.
  • Assist in resolving recurring operational issues and managing workforce challenges.
  • Monitor project progress, quality, and overall site performance.
  • Ensure proper administration and reporting of site activities in line with contract requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Registered Professional Engineer or eligible for registration with a recognized institution.
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience on similar civil construction projects.
  • Experience working on FIDIC-based contracts (minimum 2 projects).
  • At least 5 years’ working experience in Sub-Saharan Africa (preferably Namibia).
  • Strong leadership and site management skills.
  • Good understanding of environmental and safety compliance standards.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English (mandatory).
