Unik Construction Engineering has grown from a small building contractor into a competitive large corporation with 20 years’ steadfast development, Established in 1996 in Botswana, the company has established branches in Lesotho, Zambia, Namibia and South Africa in 2007, 2009 and 2013 respectively. Unik Construction Engineering Namibia (Pty) Ltd, registered in 2013, located at 26 Rensburger Street, Lafrenz, Windhoek, specializes in larger scale projects ranging from road and bridge construction, water and sewer services, residential, commercial, industrial buildings and infrastructure development.
Responsibilities:
- Act as the overall on-site representative of the Company for assigned road and infrastructure projects.
- Manage and supervise daily site operations to ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor construction progress, quality control, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with contract requirements, including FIDIC or other applicable contract forms.
- Prepare and review method statements, work programs, and progress reports.
- Supervise site personnel including foremen, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and local authorities regarding site matters.
- Identify and resolve technical and operational challenges on site.
- Control site resources including labour, materials, and equipment.
- Assist in managing variations, claims, and contractual matters.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in road construction and/or municipal infrastructure projects.
- Proven experience as a Site Agent or Senior Site Supervisor in large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of roadworks, earthworks, drainage, and water supply systems.
- Sound understanding of FIDIC contract conditions.
- Strong leadership, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
- Good understanding of Namibian construction regulations and industry standards.
- Fluency in English; Chinese language skills will be an advantage.
- Namibian citizens or candidates holding valid Namibian work permits will be given preference.
