Sub Function: Packaging Engineering
Grade: D2

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

To deliver a service to Supply Chain through the implementation and roll out of maintenance systems, to support maximum equipment availability, as well as to ensures the integrity and sustainability of equipment and processes through conducting audits, process checks and initiating corrective action where required.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in either Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in engineering/maintenance in a FMCG manufacturing plant of which at least 2 years should be on managerial level
  • Experience in preventative maintenance is essential
  • Experience in SAP PM, FMEA, TPM and advanced maintenance management processes

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Implement maintenance systems
  • Conduct critical analyses on major equipment, to proactively address and mange possible maintenance concerns
  • Conduct historical data analyses to identify trends that could cause potential maintenance implications
  • Develop optimum maintenance combinations to ensure components are not under/over maintained assuring maximum availability and reliability, as well as financial viability
  • Manage, implement and support in problem solving and maintenance process improvements within Supply Chain
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment
  • Develop, implement and uphold maintenance standards
  • Conduct monthly maintenance process audits
  • Ensure that all maintenance practices are aligned to agreed maintenance systems
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety policies, procedures and legislation
  • Lead, coach and develop the team
