Desert Fruit (Pty) Ltd is a leading agricultural enterprise specialising in large-scale date farming in the Karas Region. The company is seeking a Red Seal / Trade Tested Electrician to support its farming, irrigation, packhouse, accommodation, and renewable energy operations by ensuring all electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with statutory standards.
Role Purpose
To ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems across the farm through effective installation, maintenance, and fault-finding.
Key Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems across irrigation infrastructure, packhouses, workshops, accommodation, and solar installations.
Diagnose and resolve electrical faults to minimise operational downtime.
Maintain generators, pumps, air-conditioning, refrigeration, and cooling systems.
Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Support electrical upgrades and improvement projects.
Minimum Requirements
Red Seal Electrician or equivalent trade qualification.
Proven experience in agricultural or industrial electrical environments.
Experience with solar installations, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical codes and safety practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
