manner.

TRAINEE FISHERIES OBSERVER – (10 positions)

(Paterson B2)

Duty station: Walvis Bay

Primary Function: The primary purpose of the position is to observe the harvesting, handling and processing of marine biological resources on board fishing vessels within the Namibian exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and international waters to collect samples of marine resources harvested and to perform such other activities as may be required. Trainee observers are sea going personnel. Qualifications: Candidate should possess a Grade 11 or 12 with a minimum of 25 points, and a D symbol in the following mandatory subjects: English, Mathematics and Physical Science. Candidates with foreign qualifications must attach proof of evaluation of such qualifications from the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA).

A valid police clearance certificate not older than 2 months is a requirement. The selected applicants would be required to undergo a medical fitness test for fitness at sea and a written test.

Salary Package: FOA provides a salary package consistent with its remuneration structure.
